Graph View: Visualize and Control Your Jira Linked Issues

Jira links are powerful, but they are hard to understand from a list. When a work item is blocked by other work item, related to another, and connected to work item in a different project, it’s difficult to see the full picture, let alone spot what’s missing or misconfigured.

The Graph View in Advanced Link Manager for Jira turns those relationships into an interactive graph. You can see your dependencies, manage them visually, and keep your link structure clean, all from one screen.

The Graph View is available in the Global view, Project view, and Work Item view, so you can explore your dependencies at whichever level you need.

See All Your Dependencies at a Glance

Open any Jira work item and the Graph View shows the full structure of its links:

• The main work item sits at the center of the graph.
• All linked work items are displayed around it, including items with warnings or invalid configurations, so nothing stays hidden.
• Link type blocks appear in the left panel, one for each Jira link type, including types you haven’t configured yet.

How to Access the Graph View

1. Open your Jira work item
2. Navigate to Advanced Link Manager
3. Click Summary
4. Click Graph

The interactive graph appears instantly.

Add and Remove Links with Drag and Drop

You can manage links visually without leaving the graph.

To add a linked issue:

1. Click Edit to start making changes
2. Click a link type block on the left
3. Drag an issue from the block and drop it onto the graph
4. Select the link type and click Create

The new dependency appears immediately, connected to your main issue. Click Save to store your work.

To remove a linked issue:

-Click the Remove icon on the node. The relationship is deleted and your Jira links update in real time.

-Changed your mind? Cancel returns you to the default graph, and Refresh reorganizes the full graph into a clean layout.

Find Work items Faster with Search

Large dependency networks can get crowded. The Work Items Palette includes a search bar so you can find a work item by typing, and Reset Search clears the input and reloads the full list.

Filter the Graph to Focus on What Matters

Complex link structures need a way to cut through the noise. The Graph View lets you filter by:

• Spaces: Software, Service, Business, and more
• Status: individual statuses or status categories (To Do / In Progress / Done)
• Issue Type: Bug, Story, Task, Epic, Sub-task, and others
• Priority: for example, only High or Highest priority dependencies

Advanced Filters

For deeper analysis and cleanup, Advanced Filters let you:

• Show only unauthorized links to detect warnings, invalid links, and incorrect configurations
• Show only unconfigured link types to find link types that exist in your project but aren’t yet configured in Link Manager
• Show only cross-project links to focus on dependencies coming from other projects

Full-Screen Mode for Complex Graphs

When a dependency map gets large, switch to Full Screen. It gives you more room for drag-and-drop linking and makes complex relationships easier to read. Click Exit Full Screen whenever you want to go back.

Export and Share Your Graph

Need to document dependencies or share them with stakeholders? Click the Export icon to download a high-quality image of your current view. It’s useful for reports, reviews, planning sessions, and documentation.
